faced with a storm
preparations begin
sorting knowledge
bringing insight
amongst possible outcomes
taping weak items
giving them strength
packing small items
in places unable
to find windows
in their cross paths
wind swirls around
never really impacting
those things
safe and sound
as rain pecks
in awkward ways
leaving water to find
level ground
flowing in sheaths
rinsing away
all debris in its path
it waits for no one
while leaving
marks behind
able to grow into
a home again
