Someone’s Shoes

Standard

to walk in someone’s shoes

garners the fact that they

are extremely different

than you, that they

have the same rights of others

to be who they want

an individual, a family

of which they define

as living their lives

just as we have

there is no need to seem

intrusive or assume

we are like them for

we understand each

are individuals without

need for constant

explanation just knowing

we all have our

own style and preferences

-Jennie Nawrocki

ConfusingĀ

Standard

confusion ain’t

nothing new

for things

forever seeming

tied together

in tight knots

blocking realities

project begins

decifering which

to release

some with more

effort than others

eventually gives way

ending layers

never meant

to be mixed together

-Jennie Nawrocki

Being PositiveĀ

Standard

find it within

the ability

to see beyond

atrocities experienced

for they can hold

the mind

into a depressing realm

that hinders

functioning completely

for living with

the learned triage

in extreme conditions

doesn’t apply

to everyday conversation

and person to person interactions

for once left

difficult circumstances

the average man on the street

gives an element

of vulnerability

to those around

who want to

have that friendly

demeanor allowing

relationships to develop

outside of

being an acquaintance

-Jennie Nawrocki

OptimismĀ

Standard

optimism once came freely

able to know that

there would be something

not more worse

than this moment

however presently

these have become

crept into our daily lives

shedding off these

layers of issues

leeches among us

our emotions find

something to

look forward to

-Jennie Nawrocki

Doubts

Standard

it’s only a matter of when

taken completely

for choices dissolved

long ago

dupped on purpose

will always

be combined

with endearments

a fish in a sea of hooks

plays asteroids

always doubting

intentions for

we both knew

success was

a dream
