walking for home
mere miles away
a bus
a train
an hour away
passing the pristine
towering skyscrapers
to houses barred
along windows
it’s decent
never luxurious
a roof provides
shade from heat
shelter from rain
barrier to wind
entering these
modest means
warm greetings
embody appreciation
