Cold

Standard

I saw not the other side
bound by the vice in my head
temperature rising
as the nasal membrane drains
tears formulate in rushes
while the ears itch and clog
body drained of energy
for standing only brings vertigo
the throat of sand paper
guides the liquids as they flow
aching upsets the rest
part of the way to getting better
though I saw not the other side

Forgiveness

Standard

I forgave
because I understand the other perspective
I forgave
  after an apology
I forgave
  for we talked openly
I forgave
  when it was sincere
I forgave
  because I was ignorant
I forgave
  because I was asked
I forgave
  to stop the hate
I forgave
  because I am human

Worry Wart

Standard

Will I be liked?
Am I helping the environment?
Will I pass this test?
Can I pay the bills?
I don’t know if this is a good idea?
A car is coming into this lane?
Is this going to break?
Did I make enough food?
Is there time to….?
Am I a good son/daughter/parent, etc?
Is this presentation good?
I hope they like the present?
Is it the right color?
Do I pray enough?
Did I offend them?
Should I bring….?
What’s that noise?
Will the president help our country?
Did I turn off the stove?
Does my boss like me?
Will this medicine make me sick or die?
Am I boring?
Did I get that right?
What if my identity gets stolen?
Did I make a good impression?

I forgot to ask….am I a worry wart?

Sabotage

Standard

There is a world hidden
it all seems so far away
people and places out of reach
barring communication
pride, dignity, greed is the fight
fueling one’s discontent
from every aspect
excluding the one thing they wish
results damage the efforts towards
a greater relationship
allowing enhanced bonds
leaving emotional waste behind
