Pages

Standard

vigorous strokes of the hand
leaving ink streamed in lines
revealing everything
the mind has to offer
purged of details
as you turn the page
feeling impressions
of words meticulously placed
bringing comfort
as another page coated
with new experiences
uncompromising
in their forwardness
for one can’t stay
on the same page
for phrases evolve
as people grow

Transistor Radio

Standard

scrambled communication
blocking transmission
clearly for listening

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds

used in an emergency
buzzing with feedback
twirling knobs

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds

lengthen the antenna
move it around for ultimate reception
take it here, hold it there

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds
emit intelligible sounds
emit intelligible sounds
transistor radio

Without

Standard

without hope
without dreams
without hurt
she is lost
without family
without friends
without anyone
she is lost
without direction
without purpose
without skill
she is lost
in utter defeat she cries
what did I do?
left with nothing
she remains lost

Puppet

Standard

empty is the brain
apathetic are the emotions
hollow is the core
just a puppet
waiting for instructions
adding to the calendar
schedules of shows
just a puppet
pictures for the masses
publicly displaying
highlights of discussion
just a puppet
an icon of imagery
molded for fans
screaming “we want more”
is it just a puppet?

Living

Standard

wanting a dream
needing reality
carving tomorrow
frames today
thoughts of plans
without expectation
focus on survival
motivational things
guiding the individual
humanity based upon
being, doing, living
moments supporting
each other in our
many needs

Revelation

Standard

silly how it all came out
a word written here and there
deception everywhere
what was it really all about?

vengeance fueled going haywire
tortures guided aimlessly
finding others willingly
though others were for hire

thinking they know what’s right
blinded and deaf from desire
forgetting nothing matches for sure
only the lies they write

the stories and coincidences fabricated
through set ups and entrapment
realizing that it was never real
themselves guilty through their own deeds

Where we are

Standard

world of people
busy with their day
every region
they inhabit
shows reflections
of their lives
priorities shift
for the populous
demands readiness
accessibility of resources
enabling successes
pouring streams
of moments
excitement repeated
unsaturated laughter
goodness achieved
endless support
encouraging conversations
settle the mind
that this place
they created
is where
we want to be

Truth

Standard

in a moment of panic
letters to clarify
your perceived actions
I didn’t do
for I didn’t want it
your anger, your sadness
your disillusioned thoughts
intended to make sure
you knew the truth
I loved you enough
I respected you
there should be no
misunderstandings
revealing everything
my endless thoughts
immense emotions
you still didn’t believe
now my trust is gone
my innocence lost
of a world of people
filled with good
because you didn’t
hear the truth
forever scarred
our bodies tainted with fear
identities disappeared
devastation rages
void of all compassion
not seeing the soul
only the target
regardless of feelings
never listening
for there must be more
beaten into submission
broken of life
boxes for all the victims
killed along the way
saline filled memories
remembered under stone
cease the hurt
be humane
through truth realized
seeing how you
didn’t want to believe
my truth, my honesty

Until

Standard

hopes of the future
wishes sparkle
dreams live
wanting, waiting
building structures
preparing situations
planning interactions
wanting, waiting
living each day thinking
completing activities towards
efforts pulled together
wanting, waiting
    until
        until
            until
expectations crash
