Fictitious

Standard

out of nowhere
is when it strikes
unexpected in its delivery
doesn’t matter
no fore warnings
hidden with efficiency
planned thoroughly
people coordinate
actions performed
show all the tales
dreamed from the start
of a made up world
fictitious in every way

-Jennie Nawrocki

Relaxing

Standard

it ain’t real
until it occurs
sights beheld
tricks the eye
words told
actions in person
determine everything

knowing what to do
unconscious or conscious
makes a movement
remembered by those
present participants
can change that action
enhancing the good
with every movement

forget not why
we continue through
connecting sequences
while deleting the bad
it’s the way to go
living enhancing
each others emotional
internal relaxation

Good Friends

Standard

a face, a smile
a thought, a giggle
a gentle nature

good friends

a remembrance, a reenactment
a gesture, a kindness
a sense of comfort

good friends

a support, a saying
an honesty, a boldness
an empathic soul

good friends

a tiff, a spat
a fight, a forgiveness
an impossible thought, no

we are good friends

-Jennie Nawrocki

Time

Standard

a few minutes
a couple of hours
some days
over the weekend
an old fashion furlough

time passes by

a hesitation
take ten
a siesta
a day off
a calendar month

time passes by

just a second
pause for a meal
sleep on it
within the week
over a season

time passes by

blind interactions
missed opportunities
when it is right
this is your chance
perfect timing

don’t let time pass you by

-Jennie Nawrocki

Music

Standard

rolling notes
melodic melodies
bellowing sounds
through vibrations
amongst instruments
revealing emotions
alongside lyrics
sung in rhythms
filling the senses
enlivening nerves
responding simultaneously
body movements
catching the beat
reverberating out of speakers
souls rejoice
when music plays

-Jennie Nawrocki

Pages

Standard

vigorous strokes of the hand
leaving ink streamed in lines
revealing everything
the mind has to offer
purged of details
as you turn the page
feeling impressions
of words meticulously placed
bringing comfort
as another page coated
with new experiences
uncompromising
in their forwardness
for one can’t stay
on the same page
for phrases evolve
as people grow

Transistor Radio

Standard

scrambled communication
blocking transmission
clearly for listening

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds

used in an emergency
buzzing with feedback
twirling knobs

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds

lengthen the antenna
move it around for ultimate reception
take it here, hold it there

transistor radio
what can you tell me?
what do I need to know?
emit intelligible sounds
emit intelligible sounds
emit intelligible sounds
transistor radio

Without

Standard

without hope
without dreams
without hurt
she is lost
without family
without friends
without anyone
she is lost
without direction
without purpose
without skill
she is lost
in utter defeat she cries
what did I do?
left with nothing
she remains lost

-Jennie Nawrocki

Puppet

Standard

empty is the brain
apathetic are the emotions
hollow is the core
just a puppet
waiting for instructions
adding to the calendar
schedules of shows
just a puppet
pictures for the masses
publicly displaying
highlights of discussion
just a puppet
an icon of imagery
molded for fans
screaming “we want more”
is it just a puppet?
