two or one sugars

for the tributaries

connect cities

countries, communities

our neighborhoods

transforms trees

whose leaves

most have

freely released

from branches

several feet

above ground

soon completely

covered and swept

for the snowflakes

that descend

from the sky

blanket everything

beneath until

it becomes

a white winter

shapes orbiting

a top

slendering to

one thing

spinning on

the smooth

surface beneath

keeping still

that fulfills

a community

than that of

several people

different in

so many ways

as their varied

backgrounds and

friendly personalities

gather in

a central place

to intermix

or relax

in a common area

they all make

the day, the space

more enjoyable

than ever before

it glides
with ease along
invisible molecules
for them
gravity is
an obstacle
in which they
flap their wings
to overcome
though as much
as the sky
enables their flights
they soon find
a need to relax
their hollow bones
on any surface
around that
supports their
talons wide spread

murmur their conversations
the room is filled
discussing events
past, present, and future
combined they
create an environment
strong cohesiveness
never before
connected with others
as they are

whether clapping
