the dock stands

above tumultuous 

water tides

rippling underneath 

or splashing its sides

supporting pillars 

sides exposed

soon are habits

homes really

for creatures

pivotal to the

environment around

in the summer

boards and people

welcome the

sprays of cold

while in the winter

they freeze above

making a rink

for steady

humans as yourselves

warmed sand 

swallows toes

with each step

a spot found

unfolding towels

laid for comfort 

with a tug

and a pull

the body is

bedrooms and bathrooms

the amount of

skin shown

can make

anyone nervous 

at the beach

to be apart

effecting feelings
