Sand warm with sun
Small and conforming
Millions of grains
Acting as pebbles
Under your feet
Finding open area
To lay a blanket
Or towel
Holding picnic supplies
For the day is young
And yourself
For naps
Only occur
When friends aren’t saying
Let’s jump in
But wait
Not too far
The life guards bellow
From a mega phone
The water may be temping
Even up beyond your ears
So once you get goosebumps
Out you step
Drenched and
Collecting every piece of sand
On the walk
To warm your body
Just as you did before
Only this time
You are finally able
To read that book
Everyone must read
Returning from the beach
Requires only one thing
Knowing when
I ever get to go
To the beach again
-Jennie Nawrocki
Is it funny
Or ironic
When all dreams
Every plan
Gone
Make a new plan
Impossible
Your future
Is ours to decide
But isn’t this
The land of opportunity
If you are
What we want
You to be
Your place is determined
By attitude
Well it is time
Be friendly
Or lose friends
Who allow more
Opportunities
Then the plan never changed
Stayed the same
For what you wanted
Was a healthy happy home
With friends and family
That was achieved
With just a
Non judgmental smile
-Jennie Nawrocki
Pride isn’t trash
Always remember
We are together!

If you left these you can
Restart by
Seeing their shows anytime!

Early the sun rises
Coloring the sky
Birds singing
Good morning
The day is young
We must work
Run errands
Coat friends
Strengthen family bonds
Eat heart and healthy
Over laughter and news
Maybe plan tomorrow
Or finish yesterday
Either way
The evening has
Begun to darken
With just a few hours
Left in the longest day
Soo close your eyes
Rest your crazy thoughts
Sleep well
And we will see you
In the morning
For I can’t imagine it
Without sharing it
With someone like you
Regardless of what
We do
-Jennie Nawrocki
The image is always rough and tumble
Breadwinner extraordinaire
Stubborn and wise in his opinions
But
He plays dolls with his girls
Gets weepy when his children do
Goes and checks on things
So his spouse can achieve their goals
He wants equal partnership
For he sees his sexy spouse
being rough and tumble
Just as he the sensitive father succeeds
Winning the heart of his children.
-Jennie Nawrocki
We shan’t be cruel
Jewish faith is strong
Other religions too
Minorities growing
Bringing warmth
And friendship
LGBTQ are just
Like you and me
Ethnic or trans
You belong
For this is your home
America the free
-Jennie Nawrocki
Walking here
Nobody in front
Nobody behind
Alone on my journey
Wanting or wandering
Towards home
Bouncing ideas
Isn’t an option
For the feedback
Just assumes
I got it right
But a second opinion
Would be second or third
If you are
Walking alone
-Jennie Nawrocki
Bang, bash, boom
Sshssh, whistle, splat
Slammed doors
Windows crashed
Buildings collapsed
Friends missing
Hurt or
Worst of all
Dead
Sleepless nights
Sporadic meals
Clothes nasty
Body smelling skanky
From days of
Lots of running
And more walking
Corners suspicious
Bombardments needed
When does it end
When can I go home
Some stuff you just
Don’t want to remember
In the hell of war
-Jennie Nawrocki
I can’t see
Someone is blocking
Goodness sakes
What happened
I want to know
Won’t somebody
Tell me
Someone should know
There were so many people
And somehow
She still doesn’t know.
