The Man Obama

Standard

he debates with nations

creating productive conversations

improves local prosperity

through education and law

media knows his talents

are still many to be discovered

for what we see

is only a little bit

of how a man becomes

so precicident in

everything accomplished

that history books

have already referred

to him as a legend

-Jennie Nawrocki

Covered

Standard

fractured from use

the protective covering

shows impact

of activity

several reaches

grabs and hold

as talking and

text commence

they all drop

their grip

at one point

in time

as the conversation

bustle with

paths of operation

that bring together

more of the

same routine

continual conversations

needed to be

who we are

-Jennie Nawrocki

Transposed

Standard

see it say it

blurt it

from memory

without changing

subjects quickly

for one word

affects so much

meaning within

this morning

clients and customers

in business class

turned to

students and humans

in history class

customers are

not students

even reversed

doesn’t equate

so why does

the mind

when quickly

writing forget

to change gears

do not get

things transposed

-Jennie Nawrocki

Steady

Standard

serving as the wall

the dock stands

above tumultuous

water tides

rippling underneath

or splashing its sides

supporting pillars

sides exposed

soon are habits

homes really

for creatures

pivotal to the

environment around

in the summer

boards and people

welcome the

sprays of cold

while in the winter

they freeze above

making a rink

for steady

humans as yourselves

-Jennie Nawrocki

At The Beach

Standard

regardless of occupancies

rapid heart beats

anxiety apparent

that moment

when after

months of winter

chilled indoors

warmed sand

swallows toes

with each step

a spot found

unfolding towels

laid for comfort

with a tug

and a pull

the body is

uncovered slowly

showing every

detail normally

reserved for

bedrooms and bathrooms

though here

the amount of

skin shown

can make

anyone nervous

at the beach
