Butterfly Patio

Standard

Walking among the cobblestones

Stable but textured

Smooth rough and everything in between

Path only speckled with wildflowers and dirt.

Greens with reds, yellows, blues, and purples.

Large and small, soft petals and leaves contrasting the greys and browns

Steps illuminated by golden rays peering through the canopy of leaves above

Veer to the left or veer to the right wilderness is stomped upon

Gliding struts sombered by gentle breezes.

Then the path takes shape full of hues.

broken glass and tiles placed together bigger than dining room table

One small section seems randomly placed

But looking from a far

Glistening with life

A butterfly takes shape

As if it were just sitting a spell

You don’t want to go further as it looks so delicate and surrealistic

So you head for the awning a few feet above

And that porch swing bored from inactivity

Now rocking back and forth you wonder

Who is flying you or the butterfly immortalized as the base of all your activities.

For every movement outside involves the support of this ever glimmering butterfly

Strive

Standard

It is hard to write when your heart has been broken several times.

Some say I thrive and live for drama, I say I am cursed.

Either way I looked at my life last night and am tired as I assume you are all tired of me not going anywhere.

Well I don’t know how or when but I am looking to change things for the better.

Time to embrace, manifest my better world and not just talk about it.

I will need your support and help we all want me to be somewhere else mentally and emotionally from where I am now.

Strive for that with me, work with me because so far have different goals for me has gotten nowhere in the last 10 years.

Pride

Standard

Too much and you fall

Manifest it and you believe

And success is achieved

The importance of

Knowing the boundaries

Understanding it’s malleable

But breakable

Make it work for you

Without hurting you or others

Then and only then

It gives you strength.

Educational Reform

Standard

I have been thinking long a lot about education lately and how we could make it more beneficial for all students and not with just college bound focus.

Most students who are college bound have a complete full schedule of classes all through their senior year some even go to running start or take AP courses but what about those who want to become a tradesperson. They end up barely attending or just take filler classes their senior year. What if we gave them what we all say we want education to be is something they can and will use later in life. Real life math and science instead of calculus. I have some suggested courses below, as you can see the courses would be very helpful for students later in life such as personal finances, I am sure they would remember how to calculate compound interest and have it way more useful than trigonometry. This is what adults and children have been asking for something useful, something relevant to everyday life and my high school courses for the tradespeople would offer just that, what do you think?

They could even complete internships just as college bound students could take running start.

Applied geometry

Where a student would be able to read and make a blueprint that includes curves.

The student would be able to use cad key or design software.

Personal finance

Including chapters on stock markets and other investments as well as balancing budgets filling out loans and understanding them.

What is compound interest and how do I calculate it?

Applied Biology / health

How to take care of a garden or yard in all types of weather?

What plants grow where or need what?

First Aid and cpr

How does a wound get infected how do I prevent it?

What do I do if my kid is throwing up?

When do I call a doctor or 911?

How to treat a simple skin rash or abrasion?

Why do people seem to slow down as they age?

What is menopause and why is my mom going through it (remember you teach what puberty is why not teach how puberty ends)

How to take care of my skin and what products are bad for aging?

What do I look for when reading the ingredients?

Basic biology of pets when to take them to the vet.

Do I need to brush my pets teeth?

Real Life PE

How to develop a personal exercise routine when working 9-5?

What do I need to do pre and post workout?

If I climb a mountain or play basketball with my friends how do I keep in shape?

Applied chemistry

What happens when paint is mixed with?

What makes paint, lotions, make up, soaps,or caulk?

What are the chemical properties of cement?

The ph of soil, pool, ocean or drinking water and how can we change it for safety and food production.

Repair

A chapter on repairing wood

A chapter on repairing electrical equipment

What is a level and how do I use that silly bubble.

How do I really use excel formulas

How can I make cards and books rather then just a simple essay.

Applied English

Blogging, reporting and communication in modern age.

How do I write basic legal policies for business operations so I don’t get in trouble as an employer of under 10 people.

Small business operations

How do I become an LLC

Where do I get financing

Why do most small businesses fail?

Science for Tradeperson

Applied chemistry

Applied biology

Applied physics

Applied technology

Instead of the SAT/ACT there would be a senior project that would be presented in front of a panel of teachers/professionals that would be similar to a press briefing or shareholder/investor presentation.

Basically if you were a tradesman instead of a college scientist how would you approach this problem and what education brought you there? That would be in the new high school education reformation.

Land of the Free

Standard

With the D-Day commemorations of the 80th Anniversary this week, I was reminded why we fought why we banded together.

Americans fought against suppression and tyranny just as we had in the Revolution, the Civil War and World War II.

We didn’t fight over a Woman eventually overtaken by a soldiers in a horse.

We fought for the rights of our neighbors as well as our selves, we fought for representation in the face of a violent dictator.

We didn’t agree we were the superior race we believed we all should be free.

Stop your belly aching.

Stop your whining.

And band together to repress control.

Enable freedom.

That is what America is, was and always will be.

The land of the free.

Only then can invention and innovation reveals itself.

We started the Industrial Revolution, the technological revolution and won the first person on the moon in the space race.

The land of opportunity and freedom does not follow but fosters and encourages minds to develop and learn without hate or control.

Keep it that way.

All is Well

Standard

I am almost 50

A half century

A gen x’er

Latch key 🔑 kid

I walked everywhere

I could cook and clean a house by the age of 8.

The microwave, videos, cable and internet was invented during my time.

I saw manufacturing jobs turn into high tech.

But for some reason

When I eat I still have a plate 🍽️ with a fork and knife in front of me and the server asks what will you have.

It is the only customer service left, besides the DMV.

Why?

Because we know talking and eating is survival and we don’t want no freaking robot to regulate our food intake and feed us like babies.

We like to control ourselves, because we have been taking care of ourselves ever since you labeled us latchkey kids.

Just for goodness sakes make sure there is kool aide and something in the fridge.

We will be good and the house will be clean so we don’t get yelled at.

Toxic?

Standard

Feeling like my whole life has been public for years I don’t mind writing this personal experience because I don’t feel you have heard my perspective or my side of the story.

There is no denying that humans use me as a shield to cover themselves, pretending to me when they weren’t. Often projecting their narrative of what they want me to be rather than letting me speak or even be in the room when they are having the conversation.

I have a question though!

If you wait until you are in total control and never speak or write to me for years even when written to and called because talking to me would be seen as an accomplice, an enabler, a contributor, and active participant. Then all of a sudden call me and say hey how have you been as if nothing happened.

Who is the toxic one?

When you don’t know what has happened in their lives, missing births of babies, graduations even deaths after you have given your phone number, email and all social media locations because I only was given a mirror. Then they say they are surprised that I didn’t know.

Who is the toxic one?

When you say I am still Jennie that they used to be proud of and compliment regularly. They get upset.

Who is the toxic one?

When they want to forget you never were in their lives deleting or changing all conversations and pictures even the ones where they said they loved you and thought you were the best. Then tell you it never happened you were never a friend or even family.

Who is the toxic one?

When you can’t even make dinner for someone for their birthday.

Who is the toxic one?

When you are told this person loves you. You will meet and marry and never have. Turns out they weren’t talking to you just relaying a relatives or another’s persons story. Then say you were married they just hated you the whole time and wanted to screw with you.

Who is the toxic one?

Listening is important but when someone says F*** your feelings. To the point where there are no rules as long as Jennie Nawrocki doesn’t win.

Jennie Nawrocki isn’t the toxic one.

Respects Me

Standard

Y’all think I don’t know

Y’all think I am stupid

Y’all think I am insane

Y’all think I am ready to blow

When really I just want friends in a world that respects me.

Y’all say I can win

Y’all say I am a liar

Y’all say I am a b*****

Y’all say I am a c***

When really I just want friends in a world that respects me

Before I was patient

Before I was empathetic

Before I was hard working

Before I was trustworthy

When really I just want friends in a world that respects me

I am patient

I am empathetic

I am hard working

I am trust worthy

When really I just want friends in a world that respects me

Respects me

Respects me

Will you like me?

Somehow

Standard

Somehow she was there

Somehow she furthered my education

Somehow she bought me things I needed

Somehow there was always food on the table

Somehow there was an implied or spoken I believe in you

Somehow we always got our present even if two or three years later

Somehow she made things better

Those somehows were always within the limits of the law

Because somehow she maintained the law

Because if you lied it was always a worse punishment

Regardless of how, I still love you mom
