The rain maybe prevalent
The wind may howl
The cold steadily intensified
Trees mostly bare
Most days you ask where is the sun?
But inside
Is the warmth
Tea, cocoa, cider and coffee all at ready
Soups and stews sidelined with crackers and bread
Hearty meat is roasted rather than grilled and served to perfection
Beds piled with coats
And people relating scores of their teams
But one thing doesn’t change
Whether inside or outside
You have your family and friends
To explain what just happened
